The sun is shining!

Hello awesome backers!
The sun is indeed shining, it's the first day of spring, and I have exciting news!
The files went out to the printer last week, and I should be receiving the digital proof to approve any day now! The number of books I landed on for the order was more than the 450 I had originally budgeted for, so that's great too!
This week my husband and I are going to take a few days to enjoy the sun on Grace Bay beach in the Turks and Caicos, to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary (we've actually been together 19 years, but I didn't propose until year 7 🥰 ). This will truly be the calm before the storm, for when we get back, I'll have a busy busy month getting the digital and textile rewards out to you wonderful backers- as well as more traveling, for work and play!
So take a few minutes, soak up those springtime rays of sunshine, and enjoy this sneak preview: the cover image of the soon-to-be actually, really truly printed Victorian Collection!

What have we learned, class?

Hello awesome backers!
It's been a little while since my last update, and has it ever been a busy several weeks!
So thank you, awesome backers, for your patience; this has been a highly educational experience for me.
And what I've learned is...
The first time you do something (just a random example here, like publishing a book), it takes longer than you expect... especially if you do it all yourself!
From writing the book, to wrangling photography and editing, layout and design, plus the graphic design of all physical and digital rewards.... whew! But honestly, I'd rather have my hands on every piece of it and be sure that it's exactly what I want to put out there, even if it takes a little longer.
Additionally, prices on ink and paper have nearly doubled costs locally so I am going with the company that is based in Chicago but prints overseas. I wanted to stay completely local, but I had no idea costs would skyrocket the way they have!
SO! In the next couple of weeks the files will be sent off to the printer and you'll start seeing delivery of digital items and contact on virtual/online rewards!
I'm excited, and I hope you're excited!

Hello Awesome Backers!
Thought I'd bring you some updates- we've got both good news, and... less good.... news.
Trucking right along with the book layout- I wanted to have control over every part of the book, so I learned InDesign and am doing the design and layout myself, putting that Art degree to good use! And the English degree, in fact! So that's good news!
Also! the last photoshoot for the book is scheduled for next week! That's good news too!
So...
As it probably surprises no-one at this point, there have been increases across the printing industry. The cost of paper has gone up. The cost of ink has gone up. And shipping charges have increased, even as shipping times continue to drag.
What does that mean for you? Not much- you'll still get every reward, you awesome folks!
For ME, that means my first print run will have to be closer to my original quoted goal of 450 books, rather than the larger lot I'd hoped for, in order to stay on budget.
ONE more bright spot though...
I've decided to go with a printer that is based completely in the US. Not only is that good for our economy, it will reduce the shipping delays that are so commonly happening with international orders. Hopefully, this will keep our delivery timetable on track!
